About CISER Computing
Our mission is to provide computing support for social science research at Cornell. We offer a full range of computational technology to facilitate access to machine-readable data resources and statistical analysis software.
The CISER Computing Systems Staff manages the operations of CISER's Computing Systems, administers Computing Accounts, keeps users posted on the current operating status and upgrades of our computing system, manages disk storage, and supports the latest versions of statistical software used for data analysis. This group also supports the campus-wide academic use of SAS and SPSS software for personal computers, and works with other CISER staff to maintain the CISER Website.
The CISER Computing Consulting Staff provides services that include a Computing Consulting HelpDesk, Computing Workshops, and On-Line Computing Help, including help using the CISER Research Computing System, SAS, SPSS, and other software packages. The primary focus of these services is on helping social science researchers use statistical analysis software to work with machine readable datafiles, and includes helping users work with CISER's Computing and Data Archive resources.
